The family starts their journey in Tubou, Lakeba, welcomed by the remote charm of the island. We brought David to a funny surfspot while the others where snorkeling nearby. The kids where amazed about how we spearfish for dinner, especially Charla. The next day, a short sail leads to an outer reef filled with fish and clear water. Ashley kitesurfs, while David and Kai take their first kite lessons, sharing laughs and excitement in this pristine environment. Charla was interested and played with a small toykite.

DAY 3-4
ONEATA
On the way to Oneata, we made a stops at a deserted reef in the open ocean for spearfishing a big tuna. Entering Oneata lagoon, we found a perfect anchorage framed by turquoise water. Kai became good friend with a local boy and we all got invited for a cricket game. Finally, we shared the catch of the day on the beach with our new cricket game friends. The next day, David and Charla join a local fisherman for an unforgettable fishing trip, learning traditional techniques and forming lasting memories. It looks like Charla has discovered a new passion with fishing.
DAY 5-6
NAMUKA
Namuka offers calm lagoons and vibrant reefs. Charla and Kai went paddleboarding above clear water and coral bommies. Snorkeling in the pass reveals a lively underwater world with some nice curious but friendly sharks. We went spearfishing with the kids around looking at us to provide an amazing dinner cooked with coconut milk. During a major part of the afternoon, all the family managed to have an exhilarating kitesurf session in flat, turquoise water.

DAY 7-9
FULAGA
Fulaga surprises with its lagoon dotted by tiny islands, resembling to an Indonesian landscapes. Each family member enjoys their favorite activity, from kitesurfing to snorkeling. The perfect shallow kitesurf spot delights everyone, including Charla who made a try, but she definitely prefer to fish. A spearfishing tour provides fish for the village, showing the generosity and welcoming spirit of the locals. These days blend fun, exploration, and cultural connection.
DAY 10-11
TOTOYA
With large swells expected, we decide to sail overnight to Totoya, and enjoyed a sunset and a cool sunrise. David finds one of his favorite waves, uncrowded and powerful. The island’s history and culture emerge during an inland tour, teaching the family about resilience and ancestral knowledge. Adventure and learning combine in a place both wild and rich with stories.

DAY 12-13
MATUKU
An early sail brings the boat to Matuku’s west coast, where rainforest meets coral reefs. The surf break is superb and uncrowded. In Lomati village, the family meets residents committed to sustainability and traditional practices. Conversations and shared moments offer insights into a harmonious way of life, leaving everyone with a deep respect for the island and its people.
DAY 14-15

The final leg is a 100-nautical-mile sail back to Suva, taking around fifteen hours.
