WHY US
Tupaia : The Navigator Behind Our Name
Tupaia was a Polynesian navigator from the island of Raiatea. Long before GPS and modern instruments, he could travel across the Pacific by reading the stars, the winds, the waves and the ocean itself guided by ancestral knowledge carried through generations.
In 1769, he joined the explorer James Cook and helped guide the Endeavour across the Pacific. Tupaia shared his deep understanding of the ocean and mapped many islands that were unknown to Europeans at the time.
More than a navigator, Tupaia represented a way of sailing based on respect for the sea, observation, and connection between islands and cultures.
At Tupaia Sailing, we honor this legacy. Like Tupaia, we see the ocean not as a challenge to be conquered, but as a place to understand, explore and connect. Our voyages are inspired by his spirit : curiosity, courage and a profound respect for the sea and the cultures.

CAPTAIN
VINCENT
Once a pizza chef in Biarritz, Vincent left the kitchen behind in 2020 to chase a lifelong dream: exploring the world by sailboat and searching for the best surf spots.
Since then, he has crossed the Atlantic, explored the Caribbean, transited the Panama Canal, and fulfilled a childhood dream by sailing solo across the Pacific.
He holds a RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certification and is passionate about adventure in all its forms. A snowboarder at heart, he feels equally at home surfing, kitesurfing, or spearfishing.
Knowing his boat inside out, he personally handles all maintenance to ensure comfort and safety are never left to chance.
After two years in French Polynesia, Vincent has now dropped anchor in Fiji and can’t wait to share his favorite anchorages and a few sea stories with you.
FIRST MATE
CAMILLE
She was born and raised in Cannes, in the south of France, where the sea has always been part of daily life.
After spending years working for a large multinational company, she decided to swap office life and boardrooms for sunsets, anchorages, and life at sea, joining Vincent on his sailing adventure.
Certified in STCW safety and maritime operations, Camille combines professionalism with a genuine love for life onboard. Her passions revolve around the ocean and the outdoors: snorkeling, spearfishing, kitesurfing, hiking… and above all, chocolate (which may or may not be considered essential onboard).
As the yacht’s first crew, Camille makes sure every guest feels at home, well cared for, and free to simply relax and enjoy the journey.

Our story together
We met in the Tuamotu Archipelago in French Polynesia, where life naturally revolves around the ocean. It didn’t take long to realize we shared the same passions for spearfishing, spending hours snorkeling, kitesurfing, and exploring the sea together. From that meeting grew both a life together and a shared vision. Our charter company is a true reflection of who we are, blending adventure, simplicity, and a deep love for the ocean. Today, we’re excited to welcome our guests aboard and share not only Fiji by sailboat, but also a whole new perspective on ocean adventure.
Our love of food
As French nationals, we have a true passion for food, especially world fusion cuisine that celebrates fresh, high-quality ingredients and fish. We love preparing meals that are flavorful, simple, and satisfying. Whether it’s freshly caught fish, tropical fruits, or local specialties, we’re always excited to prepare something new. Although our dishes aren’t plated with tweezers and syringes, they’re balanced, delicious, and generously served.
